Context/Background:  David spoke the words of this song to the Lord; the day Jehovah delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

Psalm 18:1 ... "I love you Lord, my strength ..."

My thoughts:  can't you just feel the deep gratitude, thankfulness and love bubbling from David's heart for the Lord!

It has long been my prayer that my love for the Lord increase, in fact, I asked Him often to help me love Him more and to open my eyes to all His love and care in my life.

Scripture Journaling: Isaiah 41:10

Context/Background:  Israel was in need of some reassurance and a reminder that God cared.  (Isaiah 40:27-31)

Isaiah 41:10 ... fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

dismayed:  anxious, afraid

strengthen:  fortify

help:  protect or aid

uphold:  sustain, help, follow close

God's assurances from Isaiah 41:10 ...

1.  God doesn't want them to be afraid 

2.  They will receive strength from God 

3.  God will help them 

My thoughts:  some days I feel so inadequate for the tasks before me.  Today, I awoke feeling that way and cried out to God in prayer.  Later, as I began my Bible study for the day, this verse leapt off the page to me.  Thank you, Lord, for the reminder!  I love You Lord, my strength!

God's Done It Again!

This week I needed emergency medical intervention for an ongoing health issue.

While the doctor was talking to me about treatment, she included the fact that I needed a shot along with the prescriptions she was sending to the pharmacy.

What she told me next had me singing God's praises in my heart!  She told me that they had been out of the shot that I needed for 8 months, that they had not been able to get it.  Her next words gave me goose bumps!  She said they had JUST gotten an order of the shot medication in that I needed.

It is the Lord who goes before you.  He will be with you; he will not forsake you.  Do not fear or be dismayed.  Deuteronomy 31:8

“Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.”  Psalm 119: 89-90
